While he was shooting up Shakespeare in a contemporized MACBETH and being devoured by a killer croc in ROGUE, Aussie actor Sam Worthington probably never imagined that in just a few short years he’d be taking the lead in a James Cameron movie, battling mythology in CLASH OF THE TITANS, and having enough Hollywood juice to replace Tom Cruise.
Worthington is taking advantage of Tom’s vacillation and (justifiably) leaping at/on an opportunity to co-star with Charlize Theron in the spy thriller THE TOURIST, one of the dozen or so project the diminutive superstar has been considering.
The movie (a remake of the 2005 French film ANTHONY ZIMMER) involes “a female Interpol agent chooses an everyman American tourist visiting France and dangles him as bait in the hunt for a wanted criminal, who’s also her former lover.” You can probably work out the roles for yourself.
