Red Tails cast

If you haven’t seen much of Cuba Gooding Jr in his post-Oscar career, it’s because he’s been spending a lot of it on video store shelves with guys like Dolph Lundgren and Steven Seagal.

George Lucas apparently wants to change that, as he’s cast him in the WWII movie RED TAILS, which chronicles the story of the Tuskegee Airmen, the legendary group of African Americans who were the first black pilots in the US military (Cuba’s second tour with them, after the 1995 HBO movie).

The cast has also added ex-Rhodes Terrence Howard and Bryan Cranston (“BREAKING BAD”), who join Nate Parker, David Oyelowo, Tristan Wilds, Method Man, Lee Tergesen, Ne-Yo, Elijah Kelley, Andre Royo and Jesse Williams.

Anthony Hemingway is directing, with Lucas producing and financing (which is probably for the best, since otherwise the Tuskegees would end up having unusually high midichlorian counts or build famous droids or something).
