Scott is Unstoppable

JoBloJoBlo

It’s a movie about a runaway freight train loaded with combustible liquids and toxic chemicals. It’s being directed by the guy who made TOP GUN, THE LAST BOY SCOUT, TRUE ROMANCE and MAN ON FIRE. Is that something you might be interested in?

Tony Scott has boarded Fox’s UNSTOPPABLE, slipping on his engineer’s cap to get the action-disaster flick on track. The story, surprisingly not a remake of RUNAWAY TRAIN, was originally penned by Mark Bomback (LIVE FREE OR DIE HARD).

The project has been on and off the rails for a while now, with Robert Schwentke (FLIGHTPLAN) and Martin Campbell (CASINO ROYALE) already leaping from the speeding locomotive.

Scott has another train-related movie hitting this summer (although not quite as fast-moving), the remake of THE TAKING OF PELHAM 1 2 3. He’s also been threatening to remake THE WARRIORS for a while now, and is producing next summer’s big-screen A-TEAM flick.
