Few things bore me as the concept for a movie more than “corporate espionage.” I like crazy, fake espionage where guys are stabbing other guys and blowing up really expensive Italian cars. But if there are two people who can sell me on making corporate espionage interesting, it’s Clive Owen and Julia Roberts. Just about the best thing in CLOSER (cause Natalie Portman’s stripper barely stripped), Owen and Roberts team with Tom Wilkinson and Paul Giamatti for DUPLICITY, a movie that makes the idea of securing formulas for patents sound positively thrilling.
