If you’re a teenager and Kate Winslet asks you to read to her from classic literature books then proceeds make the sex with you, you do it. You don’t ask questions. You just do it. Or her, as it were. You don’t, however, fall in love with her. Because when she turns up in your life again being tried for Nazi war crimes, things could get a little weird. That’s roughly the plot of the upcoming drama THE READER and it’s one of two films (the other being REVOLUTIONARY ROAD) for which Winslet may finally win that Oscar she so deserves. Ralph Fiennes co-stars as the lad she seduces. He tells his story in flashback. Check out the first trailer for THE READER in glorious quicktime and HD over HERE. It opens January 9th of next year.
