Last year, we told you about Johnny Depp signing to star as vampire Barnabas Collins in DARK SHADOWS, an adaptation of the old time gothic soap opera of the same name. According to the cool peeps at the IESB, Tim Burton has apparently signed on to direct the film, marking the seventh time that Depp and Burton will be collaborating on a film. Hey, they’ve given us six pretty damn good flicks so far, no reason for them to stop. Burton is also apparently bringing on his go-to screenwriter John August to hammer out a script. They also mention that Depp isn’t confirmed to play Collins. In the meantime, JoBlo.com’s one and only man-crush can be seen in Terry Gilliam’s fantasy thriller THE IMAGINARIUM OF DR. PARNASSUS and in Michael Mann’s crime drama PUBLIC ENEMIES.
