Trailers are a vital and incredibly effective part of the Hollywood marketing machine. Even if a movie is god-awful, a particularly gifted individual can scrap together an inspired trailer that suckers enough people into believing the film is decent that it’ll at least make solid opening weekend numbers. Which is where the Golden Trailer Awards come in. These individuals and the work that makes us salivate in anticipation with a great trailer and curse to high heaven with a great trailer that dupes into watching a shitty movie deserve recognition.
