Hanks not Montag

Tom Hanks A little while ago, writer/director/exceptional Stephen King adapter Frank Darabont revealed a while ago that Tom Hanks would be playing firefighting protagonist Guy Montag in FAHRENHEIT 451, his adaptation of the iconic Ray Bradbury sci fi novel of the same name. Unfortunately, he recently dropped the bad news that Hanks has had to bow out and he’ll be forced to find someone else to incinerate books. Says Darabont: “Mr. Hanks sadly and regretfully had to back out. I was really looking forward to working with him again but his other commitments just precluded it. He had to take a step back.” Bummer. Not that it’s necessarily made Darabont any less psyched to get the film made. Read the rest of what he had to say about it HERE.
