In BE KIND REWIND, Jack Black accidentally erases the videotapes at Mos Def’s rental store, and the pair remake all the movies themselves. These versions become popular with customers, who are told they take longer to arrive and cost more because they come from Sweden. Hence, the films are referred to as ‘Sweded’.
Director Michel Gondry has gotten even more meta than that — he took the original trailer (which you can see RIGHT HERE) and single-handedly did his own shot-for-shot Sweded version, which you can see below. The movie is in theaters now.
