Casey Affleck comes off a strong year in film (he was particularly brilliant as an undercover Mexican) and steps right into another lead role.
Ben’s kid bro is attached to star in an adaptation of the gangster-noir tale THE KIND ONE, the just-released debut novel from screenwriter Tom Epperson. Set in 1930s Los Angeles, the story follows “Two Gun Danny”, an amnesiac enforcer who has a difficult time believing his own homicidal reputation. Things get even more complicated when he falls for his employer’s best gal.
Affleck reunites with his GONE BABY GONE producer Sean Bailey on the project, and Epperson (THE GIFT, ONE FALSE MOVE) will start pecking at the script himself as soon as the strike ends. In the meantime, Casey will be anxiously awaiting the announcement for Best Supporting Actor (he’s nominated for his role as the Coward Robert Ford).
