The thriller FUNNY GAMES has recently been unspooling before Sundance crowds (to reportedly mixed response). While I can’t personally comment on the film’s quality, I can tell you that it has Naomi Watts and torture. That could very well make it a “must see” for many.
The movie comes from director Michael Haneke (CACHE), remaking his own 1997 German version about a pair of psychotic men who take a family hostage in their remote vacation home and force them to participate in sadistic games. Check out some clips for a taste of the delectable darkness (brightly lit though it may be).
