I have to admit I don’t have a lot of interest or patience for anime in general. Too much of it just comes across as painfully ponderous, or zany and inscrutable for the sake of it.
I’m intrigued by THE FIVE KILLERS though, for a few reasons. Besides the nifty premise (a quintet of retired killers are hunted by the “ultimate assassin”), it’s from people who worked on the groovy animated shows AFRO SAMURAI and CLONE WARS, along with comic veteran writer Mark Waid. (Also, it has cartoon cleavage.)
We don’t normally cover much TV material around here, but this series looks sufficiently cinematic and violent and so ridiculously slick that I thought it deserved mention. Check out the teaser RIGHT HERE and decide for yourself!
