Yahoo’s recently posted the first trailer for the romantic comedy THE JANE AUSTEN BOOK CLUB, the Robin Swicord directed feature adaptation of the best-selling Karen Joy Fowler novel of the same name. In it, the right-pictured Maria Bello along with Emily Blunt, Amy Brenneman and Kathy Baker find, after deciding to start the titular book club, that their romantic lives slowly start to mirror the lives of the characters in the books they meet every week to discuss. Oh, the hilarity! And hijinks-based pathos! To be honest, if this film is even mildly coherent, it should make some decent bank as counter-programming to whatever it happens to be opening against.
