The Host trailer!

JoBloJoBlo

This will probably sound like major hyperbole (and no doubt lead to inevitable disappointment), but the South Korean horror flick THE HOST isn’t just an amazing monster movie, it’s a near masterpiece.

You’re probably wondering how that’s possible – at its core, Bong Joon-ho’s film (also known as GWOEMUL) is essentially a family drama… but it also just happens to feature a rampaging, ravenous amphibian with a taste for Asian cuisine. It’s been getting plenty of accolades elsewhere (I fortunately got a chance to see it months ago thanks to the astute folks at the Brattle Theater in Cambridge, MA), but it’ll finally start devouring viewers in America very soon as Magnolia Pictures lets the beast roam the country.
