Jones talks Surfer

JoBloJoBlo

Fantastic Four 2
Doug Jones, who provided the corporeal mannerisms of Abe Sapien in both director Guillermo Del Toro’s HELLBOY and the titular fantastical creature in his PAN’S

LABYRINTH, recently spoke to the folks over at the IESB about work on his most high profile project to date – providing the corporeal mannerisms of the titular Surfer in next summer’s FANTASTIC FOUR: RISE OF THE SILVER SURFER. One of the

biggest questions has been whether he’d be voicing the character and he mentioned that while he has recorded dialogue, he hasn’t been given final confirmation that his

voice would be used in the final edit. As for how the Surfer will be introduced? Apparently, quite similarly to how he was introduced in the comics – that is, with an

establishment of his duties serving Galactus but only minor details of his origin given. (Quite possibly reserved for a stand-alone film) Check out what else he had to say,

including work on the upcoming HELLBOY sequel THE GOLDEN ARMY (in which he will be voicing Sapien) over HERE. RISE OF THE SILVER SURFER opens June

15th.
