Halloween John Carpenter

Last month we shared the news that John Carpenter's 1978 classic HALLOWEEN is getting a new 4K Blu-ray release this fall, a release you can pre-order at THIS LINK. Now a freshly cut trailer for the film has arrived online to promote that upcoming Blu-ray.

Directed by Carpenter from a screenplay he wrote with Debra Hill, HALLOWEEN starred Jamie Lee Curtis, Donald Pleasence, Nancy Loomis, P.J. Soles, Charles Cyphers, Kyle Richards, and Brian Andrews.

On a black and unholy Halloween night years ago, little Michael Myers brutally slaughtered his sister in cold blood. But for the last fifteen years, town residents have rested easy, knowing that he was safely locked away in a mental hospital — until tonight. Tonight, Michael returns to the same quiet neighborhood to relive his grisly murder again…and again…and again. For this is a night of evil. Tonight is Halloween!

Special features on this release include the following:

Audio Commentary with Writer/Director John Carpenter and Actor Jamie Lee Curtis

“The Night She Came Home” Featurette

The release date is September 25th.

I already have a couple copies of HALLOWEEN on Blu-ray and don't have the technology to enjoy 4K, so I'll be sitting out this release myself. But that doesn't mean I can't enjoy seeing how the trailer promotes it… I don't like that it uses music that's not from the movie, though.

Whether you're going to get this 4K release or not, check out the trailer below and see what you think.
