A haunting poem introduces Samara in new Rings trailer

Honestly, I kind of figured we might never get to see RINGS thanks to the studio's constant rescheduling of the belated second sequel, but things are heating up as we approach the fourth announced date (February 3rd), so I'm going to go ahead and assume that we're sticking with this one. That way madness lies, I know. But there's a brand new trailer for the film and it actually looks pretty good!

Maybe it's just because they're relying on a lot of recycled Gore Verbinski imagery from the original film, but this teaser (which comes with its own creepy Samara rhyme á là Freddy Krueger) actually looks reasonably chilling. Check it out below!

Directed by F. Javier Gutierrez and executive produced by Guillermo del Toro, RINGS was written by Akiva Goldsman, David Loucka, and Jacob Aaron Estes. It tells the following story:

In Rings, a young woman becomes worried about her boyfriend when he explores a dark subculture surrounding a mysterious videotape said to kill the watcher seven days after he has viewed it. She sacrifices herself to save her boyfriend and in doing so makes a horrifying discovery: there is a “movie within the movie” that no one has ever seen before…

Matilda Lutz, Alex Roe, Johnny Galecki, Aimee Teegarden, Bonnie Morgan, and Vincent D’Onofrio star.
