Word out of THR is that New Line will be making its first acquisition in eight years by snatching up rights to Blumhouse Productions’ new horror film, SUPERSTITION. While details on this one are about as slim as they get, the site is reporting that the film will be set in high school and be in the same vein as I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER, except this one is going to have some found-footage elements to it. Yeah, let's take the 90s and apply found-footage to it. Should be solid…

Chris Lofing and Travis Cluff shot the film on a micro-budget with an unknown cast. Film 360's Schnider, Guymon Casady and Ben Forkner are producing SUPERSTITION alongside Blum, while Blumhouse's Couper Samuelson is executive producing.

New Line is planning a 2016 release for SUPERSTITION. We'll send more news on this one your way once we get it!
