Just the other day, we tickled your barbarian bone with an article about the new CONAN movie, with Arnold Schwarzenegger teasing an “A” movie (as opposed to a B movie) filled with spectacle and grand entertainment. Today he’s getting us further lathered up with a casting idea that’ll act as catnip for action fanatics.

An interview with Arnie over at IAmRogue covers plenty of topics, but the reporter brings up one Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, with whom Schwarzenegger shared the screen very briefly in Peter Berg’s THE RUNDOWN. Can Arnold envision starring opposite The Rock again in the near future?

“I think it would be great for him, for The Rock to play the earlier generation and me the later generation. I’m looking forward to that.”

It’s unclear if Arnold is referencing the next CONAN, or just speaking about a general collaboration, and while this is most likely just an offhand remark that shouldn’t be given too much deep thinking, we can’t help but be intrigued by the possibilities of these two slashing up Robert E. Howard’s universe together. After all, The Rock is the Scorpion King, and knows his way around a scimitar.
