20th Century Fox has just paid a hefty 7-figures to land the rights to GONE GIRL, Gillian Flynn’s new bestselling mystery novel. Word from Deadline is Reese Witherspoon (Pacific Standard) will jointly produce the film adaptation of the novel, which Flynn will pen herself. Additionally, Amy Adams (below) is being eyed to star in the gritty thriller.

I’m liking it, as I always love a good mystery with ambiguous culprits. Will it make a good movie though? Depends on the director and rest of the cast I suppose. We shall see…
