When Marion Cotillard speaks, I take a knee and obey…

The lovely French stunner is the subject of THR’s upcoming cover story, and in the fascinatingly candid one-on-one, the Oscar winning actress addressed many a topic. Of course, the inevitable subject of THE DARK KNIGHT RISES was broached, and like a good sport, Cotillard filled us in a bit regarding her character in the much anticipated sequel. In fact, she goes so far as to debunk her role as Ra’s Al Ghul’s daughter, a role long thought to be incorporated in Nolan’s take on Gotham City. Not to be, check it…

Cotillard confessed she plays Miranda Tate in the film, an ecologically minded businesswoman who “is fascinated by Wayne Enterprises. They go through difficulties, and she wants to help provide the world clean energies. She’s a good guy.”

When pressed if Miranda will remain a good guy throughout the film, Marion resounded “Yes!” So take that for what you will!

Also featuring Christian Bale, Tom Hardy, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Anne Hathaway, Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman, Gary Oldman, Josh Stewart, Matthew Modine and Juno Temple – TDKR:

When Commissioner Gordon stumbles upon a plot to destroy the city from within, Bruce Wayne gets back into action as the Batman. Waiting for him is the mysterious Selina Kyle and Bane, a lethal adversary on a crusade to tear apart Batman’s legacy piece by piece.
