About a week ago our #1 chica Marcey P. hit you with word that Dimension had decided to release John Gulager’s PIRANHA 3DD into theaters after-all…set to do so the same day the flick would be available on VOD. No date was given at the time, but thankfully we haven’t had to wait long…

B-D is reporting that Dimension has tagged PIRANHA 3DD with a June 1st theatrical release date. As mentioned, the film will hit VOD the same day. As you know, it’s always a tough market to put a film out during the summer blockbuster season. At this time, PIRANHA 3DD is slated to open against SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN and JACK AND DIANE. Of those three, I know which we all wanna see!

Speaking of, the DDs bust out when:

Having awoken from their spring break extravaganza at Lake Victoria, the swarm heads upstream where they look to make a meal out of Big Wet, a local water park where when it comes to fun, nobody does it wetter! Thought they came to get wet, get loaded and get some, the staff and patrons get more than they bargained for when they must face the fiercest, most bloodthirsty piranhas yet. Lead by the strong-willed, studious Maddy and her friends, Barry and Kyle, the trio must dive in and take on these man-eating creatures using every ounce of their being… but can they be stopped?

Danielle Panabaker, Ving Rhames, Christopher Lloyd, Paul Scheer, Katrina Bowden (below), Matt Bush, Chris Zylka, David Koechner, Gary Busey and David Hasselhoff all don the bikinis and speedos. Again, on June 1st.

You’re welcome!
