This past Halloween, news broke that Joss Whedon was set to produce a supernatural romance script he wrote called IN YOUR EYES. Well, looks like the last few months have yielded us a leading lady!

THR has it that Abigail Spencer (pictured) is ironing out a deal to star in IN YOUR EYES. Not much is known about the indie flick, save for it centers on two people who are preternaturally or supernaturally connected, despite being polar opposites.

Here’s what Whedon told Deadline back in October:

“When I wrote In Your Eyes, I didn’t have the wherewithal (or the moxie) to make it without an established production house… I believe, as I did then, that it’s a pretty timeless romance, and now, with the creation of Bellwether Pictures (and Brin Hill’s elegant, passionate take on the piece) I have the opportunity to prove it. (I also have a 37% increase in moxie.) I love this team and I can’t wait to see them bring In Your Eyes to life.”

As for Spencer, she’s been toiling in TV and film her whole career. You may know her as Suzanne Farrell in “Mad Men” or Alice in COWBOYS AND ALIENS. She has a grip of new movies coming out, including Sam Raimi’s OZ: THE GREAT AND POWERFUL, McG’s THIS MEANS WAR, as well as THE HAUNTING IN GEORGIA. Girl’s keeping busy!

IN YOUR EYES, directed by Brin Hill, is due this April.
