Are you guys familiar with director Roel Reiné? He’s the dude that’s been behind the last two DEATH RACE flicks. Ringing any bells?
Well regardless whether you’re familiar with the guy or not he’s already lined up his next film and it’s not a direct-to-DVD sequel! What a shocker, eh? According to the guys over at Bloody-Disgusting Reiné (right) will next be tackling a little revenge tale called DEAD IN TOMBSTONE.
Alright so the title kind of sucks… But let’s not write this one off just yet. At least give the rundown and look-see before doing something drastic like that:
DEAD IN TOMBSTONE will follow Guerrero Hernandez, the leader of the Blackwater Gang of outlaws. Hernandez frees his half-brother Red from a prison (in the hopes of robbing the entire town), only to be shot in the back. Hernandez makes a deal with the Devil to rise from the grave for revenge.
… Yeah we can go ahead and write this one off now. Sounds to me like we’ve got a CROW rip-off on our hands. The only difference is the dude was a bad guy before dying where-as Mr. Draven was of pure heart. Hell he came back from the dead to avenge his girlfriend’s murder! ‘Guerrero Hernandez’s’ reasons seem a bit more selfish. Just saying.
Coming from Universal Pictures and scribes Shane Kuhn and Brendan Cowles, DEAD IN TOMBSTONE is set to start filming this March in Bucharest, Romania so we can expect a lot more updates on this one soon.
