With IN TIME coming and going like its own subject, it may have been easy to forget about Rian Johnson’s similar sounding sci-fi thriller LOOPER. You remember, right…the flick starring Bruce Willis and Joseph Gordon Levitt…produced by Luc Besson? Yeah, yeah…that one. Well, why not ring in the new year with an update from the film…

Over at the films official Tumblr page, a new photo of director Riam Johnson sitting in the time travel vessel seen in the film has been posted. As you can see, it’s some sort of pod mechanism…quite different than that damn DeLorean we all know and love. Don’t know why, but this Looper pod looks like something out of THE FLY to me.

Also starring Emily Blunt, Piper Perabo (below), Garrett Dillahunt, Paul Dano, and Xu Qing:

LOOPER is a time-travel action thriller involves a killer (Gordon-Levitt) who works for the mob of the future. He, along with other so-called Loopers, dispose of people that are sent from the future. When he recognizes one victim as his future self (Willis), he hesitates, letting the man escape.

LOOPER hits Earth September 28th.
