From walkers to flyers…Gale Anne Hurd is making a transition.
Per Deadline, the highly involved exec-producer of “The Walking Dead” (Hurd) has now, under her Valhalla Entertainment shingle, optioned a one-hour drama series based on Annie Jacobsen’s novel “Area 51: An Uncensored History of America’s Top Secret Military Base.” Word is Karl Gajdusek (OBLIVION) will not only write the pilot for the series, he’ll also serve as showrunner and exec-producer.
“Area 51,” which goes out to networks shortly, will follow two men working on the base who are thrust into danger when they uncover secrets that the government will protect at any cost.
