Paul Davis, the director of the documentary BEWARE THE MOON: REMEMBERING AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON (which, if you haven’t seen it, is the definitive doc regarding the beloved John Landis flick), is stepping behind the camera for a fictional tale of undead mayhem called SILENT NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD, a film he’ll co-write with SEVERANCE scribe James Moran.

SILENT NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD will tell the story of a group of locals who hole up in a West Sussex high school on Christmas Eve and have to fend off zombies.

“With this I want to go back to Romero and Fulci in terms of making the zombie scary again,” Davis told ShockTillYouDrop. He’s enlisted longtime make-up effects specialist Dave Elsey (Oscar-winner along with Rick Baker for font color=”#ff0000″>THE WOLFMAN) to assist in creating the zombies. In addition, UK musician Osymyso will score the creature feature.
