The great Sam Raimi is all over the place today…

Just as we ran a story about the EVIL DEAD reboot Raimi will produce for Ghost House Pictures, it now seems is other company, Stars Road, has just gotten some help from Sony. Check it…

According to Deadline, Sony has just acquired screen rights to BZRK, the first of a three part sci-fi book series that Stars Road will produce. Written by novelist Michael Grant, here’s how BZRK shapes up:

A team of gifted teens control biological nanobot robots warriors and they battle another group that is controlled by conjoined twins whose nanobots are brainwashing world leaders. The megalomaniacal twins are trying to take over the world.

Damn, that’s quite lofty right there. Sounds more like a James Cameron endeavor, not a Raimi one. Still, Raimi will likely produce only, then handpick the most qualified director to realize such an ambitious project. Then again, OZ: THE GREAT AND POWERFUL is no small potatoes. Who knows, maybe Raimi gets an itch to direct BZRK himself. I know that would make a lot of us happy, right?

More on BZRK as it develops…
