In our ongoing quest for genre brilliance we come across a lot of flicks here at AITH. And it should come as no surprise that some of those movies aren’t from the US. Hell a good chunk of the really genius movies out there aren’t from the US. So it’s with that in mind that I come your way to tell you guys about a new witch-themed flick coming all the way from Norway.
The project in question is a little something called DUNDERLAND and not only do I have a one-sheet and production blog for you guys, but we’ve got a trailer to feast our eyes on as well! Natch! 1695. A young maiden by the name of Johanne Nilsdotter is accused of witchcraft. Her persecutors end her life in the bottomless pits of the Djupkista waters in the Dunderland valley. In the years to follow numerous horrendous events and tragedies strike the valley.
2011. The young, aspiring theater director Laura arrives in the Dunderland valley. Together with an ensemble of Norway’s premier actors, she will put on a play at an old, abandoned Boy Scout camp. They are soon made aware of the Dunderland valley’s dark and bloody history. Then the star actor disappears.
So what do you guys think? A witch flick from Norway… Pretty much what you’d expect or are you pleasantly surprised? One thing is for sure – It’s still way too early to make any rash decisions when it comes to DUNDERLAND so we’ll be here keeping our eyes open for more on the Finn-Erik Rognan and Nils J. Nesse film.
