This whole vampire craze just doesn’t want to die down, does it? Don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining. I can dig a good vampire flick as much as the next guy so with that in mind I’ve come along here today to tell you all about a new project heading our way from Solipsist Films and Top Cow.

What am I getting at? Well it’s a little something called IN THE DUST, which is a Top Cow graphic novel due out next year. Next year you say? Well that’s not stopping Solipsist Films from getting a big screen adaptation of IN THE DUST off the ground right now! According to The Hollywood Reporter’s Heat Vision blog Stephen L’Heureux’s Solipsist Films has just snatched up the rights on the upcoming vampire comic, which was created by George Mahaffey and Christian Duce.

According to the site Mahaffey will be penning the script for IN THE DUST with Stephen L’Heureux producing and Top Cow’s Matt Hawkins and Marc Silvestri set to executive produce. You want the rundown for this little diddy, don’t you? Of course you do! Check it:

The story is set against the Dust Bowl of the 1930s, when “black blizzards” obscured the Midwest and prairies. The plot sees a G-Man investigating the disappearances of entire families from small towns during these storms, uncovering the existence of an army of vampires that are using them as cover to ravage the countryside. The agent is forced to team up with remnants of Al Capone’s gang to save Chicago when the vampires turn their attention to the Windy City.

And there you have it folks! So what do you think? So an agent teams with a bunch of gangsters to take down some vampires? I can dig it!

Unfortunately that’s about all we’ve got on IN THE DUST right now but with Mahaffey hard at work on the script I’m sure we can expect some more updates on this one soon.
