New Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D poster is quite the buzz kill

It’s been two months to the day since last hearing about the latter, John Luessenhop’s absurd 3-dimensional rehash. Well, as we’re now under a calendar year from release, a newly fashioned one-sheet for TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE 3D has been put out into the world. Meet the dripping saw blade below!

While I certainly dig the simple imagery of a gore sodden power-tool, I am a little disappointed in the byline: “From the producer of SAW 3D: THE FINAL CHAPTER.” First off, no one should brag about that film…ever. More importantly though, even if it were…does the studio really think all it takes to get a decent product his hire a guy who once did a 3D film with “Saw” in the title? Or that we’re dull enough to buy it? Man, that’s kind of irksome. Of course, I’m super biased with this particular franchise, as I’ve often said Hooper’s original 1974 TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE is my all time favorite horror film. I therefore loathe any interloper!

Due October 5, 2012 – TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE 3D stars Bill Moseley, Alexandra Daddario (below), Tania Raymonde, Sue Rock, Trey Songz, Gunnar Hansen, Tobe Hooper, Marilyn Burns, Dean Yeager, Keram Malicki-Sanchez, Thom Barry, Paul Rae, Scott Eastwood and Richard Riehle.
