It was just last week that Jake dropped the good word that “True Blood’s” Stephen Moyer was the first name signed on to star in Darren Lynn Bousman’s THE BARRENS and now here I am today with even more casting news for the monster feature.
According to the guys over at Bloody-Disgusting three more names have joined the flick to help Moyer battle that pesky little Jersey Devil. Those names are: Mia Kirshner, J. Larose and Erik Knudsen. Now this really shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone considering Larose (right) worked with Bousman before, starring in SAW III, while Knudsen appeared in Bousman’s SAW II. Kirshner (below) on the other hand will be a first timer for Bousman, but we’re not complaining.
In the film Cynthia Marlow (Kirshner) joins her husband Richard (Moyer), stepdaughter Sadie, and young son for a weekend camping trip in the New Jersey Pine Barrens. Family bonding turns to horror when Richard falls ill and becomes convinced they are being stalked by the legendary creature of the Barrens: the Jersey Devil.
THE BARRENS is set to start filming next Monday in Toronto so expect a lot more updates on this one soon.
