Really? When compiling the most impressive roster of A-list action stars, do you really think recruiting a dude named Gale from THE HUNGER GAMES is a good look?
I don’t, but then again I’m not Simon West. According to Variety, West has hired Hemsworth (seen getting blown off by Miley Cyrus in the surf there) to inject new blood in THE EXPENDABLES 2. As you know, the flick stars the likes of such 80s action greats as Sly, Arnold, Bruce, Van Damme and Chuck f*cking Norris.
Also confirmed is the return of Jason Statham, Mickey Rourke, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Terry Crews. However, this could be amended down the line, as it seems no one is too thrilled about shooting the film in Bulgaria during the dead of winter. Names like John Travolta, Nic Cage, Michael Biehn and others are still being considered.
Hemsworth, the Aussie actor, has only been kicking around since 2007or so. He did national TV before making his debut in Alex Proyas’ KNOWING. He then went on to star in the Aussie horror flick TRIANGLE. Not sure any of which qualifies for mixing it up with Sly and boys. Not yet anyway!
