By chance, have you ever heard or read the Tony Lee and Dan Boultwood comic HOPE FALLS?

Well, according to Bleeding Cool, Future Films has just optioned rights to adapt the supernatural mystery comic to the big-screen. Word is production will kick off in the unspecified near future.

Rocking the excellent tagline, “some debts must be paid in blood,” Hope Falls is a comic about a girl who returns to her home town after twenty years, who is then revealed to have been murdered by a group of men who are now prominent town citizens, and she’s out for some supernatural revenge.

Sounds decent, just so long as it doesn’t skew too young. It’s sad that I have to filter every expectation of a horror movie about a young girl through my cynical stance on TWILIGHT and “True Blood.” For f*ck’s sake, give me more CARRIE, less Bella and Sookie.

More on HOPE FALLS as it drops…
