The idea of John Cusack and Nic Cage once again swapping lines – a la the absurdly comedic CON AIR – is one I think we can all get excited about. Just so long as the latter doesn’t spout: “Put the bunny…in the box!”
Of course, I’m talking about the reunion of the two in FROZEN GROUND, a serial killer thriller from Kiwi first-timer Scott Walker. And you know what? It looks like the two gents will enjoy the company of a certain young lady.
According to Deadline, Vanessa Hudgens (pictured) has joined FROZEN GROUND. No details about her part were given, but I’m willing to bet she plays one of the unceremoniously felled victims. How can she not?
FROZEN GROUND is based on real-life serial killer Robert Hansen. Peep the outline:
Hansen (Cusack), a respected family man, systematically abducted some two dozen women and flew them into the Alaskan wilderness where he released and then hunted them. Story will follow a trooper (Cage) who finds one of Hansen’s victims alive on the street who becomes the key in an unlikely partnership that brings Hansen to justice.
Hansen was arrested in 1983 and charged with four murders and, as part of a plea bargain, agreed to show police where the graves of the murdered women were. He was sentenced to 461 years in prison and is currently imprisoned at Spring Creek Correctional Center in Alaska.
FROZEN GROUND begins filming in Anchorage, Alaska on October 17th.
