Ghostbusters 3 shooting this Spring? With or without Bill Murray?

Oh just f*cking die already!

In what has clearly become a sad, pathetic cash-grab…grossly masking the lack of current talent by capitalizing on fortunes of old…it appears Ivan Reitman and company are hell-bent on shooting GHOSTBUSTERS 3 this upcoming Spring. And just to let you know how desperate they’ve become…they’re ready to move on with or without Bill Murray.

Speaking on Dennis Miller’s radio show, star and co-creator Dan Aykroyd imparted some interesting GB3 words:

“Yes, we will be doing the movie, and hopefully with Mr. Murray. That is our hope. We have an excellent script, but what we have to remember is that Ghostbusters is bigger than any one component. Although Billy was the lead and contributed to it in a massive way, along with myself, Harold (Ramis) and the director and Sigourney (Weaver), the concept is bigger than any one individual role.”

Everyone cool with that? Moving on:

“The promise of Ghostbusters 3 is that we get to hand the equipment and the franchise down to new blood. My character, Ray, is now blind in one eye and can’t drive the Cadillac. He’s got a bad knee and can’t carry the packs. Egon is too large to get into the harness. We need young blood and that’s the promise. We’re gonna hand it to a new generation. We want to go into production in the spring, I hope.”

So what about this new crop of Ghostbusters? Calvin Klein models with perfect teeth?

“I like this Matthew Gray Gubler from the Criminal Minds show, but we’ll be casting,” said Aykroyd. “We’ll see everyone who wants to do it. It will be three guys and a young woman.”

Three guys and a woman? Already sounds like a weak ass sitcom. I love you and all Danny, but sir…let this one go. No one wants to see a new breed of Ghostbuster…you had your day man…let it sit!
