It’s no secret that Paco Plaza has just finished up the third [REC] film, GENESIS. And we also know that Jaume Balaguero has just started production on [REC]: APOCALYPSE. But what about after that? Previously the filmmakers had said that GENESIS and APOCALYPSE would be the end to the franchise… but is seems Plaza might have a different idea.
Instead of just giving his partner a quick telephone call Plaza decided to post an interesting piece of info over at Balaguero’s Twitter page that would indicate a fifth [REC] film is indeed a possibility. Check it:
“by the way, yesterday I saw an idea for REC3 REC5 but can perfectly serve REC4. Cortadin and I’ll tell you.”
Obviously that’s a rough translation of the ‘tweet’, which was posted in Spanish. But there it is folks. You can go ahead and take that for what it’s worth. Personally I’m going to wait for something a little more solid than that before I go jumping through any hoops about this one.
We’ll be keeping our eyes and ears open for any other news regarding GENESIS, APOCALYPSE or this possible fifth film so you’ll definitely want to be checking back soon for that.
