Michael and Peter Spierig, collectively known as The Spierig Brothers (above) haven’t done much but dare I say their name is still recognizeable? Perhaps I’m just talking as a genre fan considering their only two credits are DAYBREAKERS and the 2003 zombie flick UNDEAD. Now while UNDEAD was pretty bland I did dig the shite out of DAYBREAKERS so when news comes bouncing across these here interwebs on what The Spierigs are working on next… well I just had to run over here to tell you guys about it!
The Spierigs have lined up a project called JUNGLE, which is the true story about a tale of survival. Penned by Justin Monjo the rundown for JUNGLE reads:
What begins as a dream adventure for three backpackers and their enigmatic guide quickly becomes a struggle for survival as they unravel under the duress of the wilderness. ‘Jungle’ is the incredible true story of Yossi Ghinsberg’s triumph over the most adverse and frightening of circumstances. It is a tale of survival, human fortitude and social manipulation against the wildest backdrop on the planet.
I know it’s not much to go on but JUNGLE sounds like it might have some potential right? Of course we’ll be waiting on more from the project before we jump to any conclusions.
