Alex Proyas’ Paradise Lost, starring Bradley Cooper, coming at us in late 2013

Once confirmed by star Bradley Cooper on Charlie Rose back in May, it seems production has been inching forward on Alex Proyas’ unnecessary adaptation of PARADISE LOST. And while I cannot say Bradley Cooper playing Satan is all that appealing to me, I do appreciate the fact Proyas has opted against the 3D format…a format initially embraced.

Anyway, some fresh details about PARADISE LOST have emerged from the Ausfilm publication. First off, it seems the flick will be released in the U.S. sometime in late 2013. No specific date was issued, but the film will be shot in Sydney, Australia. The production will be a massive undertaking, with 20 weeks of pre-production, 8 weeks of principal photography and a whopping 72 weeks of post-production. Word is the film will also feature a heavy dose of motion-capture photography. Make of that what you will…

Based on the famed John Milton poem, PARADISE LOST tells the story of the epic war in heaven between archangels Michael and Lucifer, including the latter’s role in Adam and Eve’s fall from grace.
