It may have taken nearly 40 years for THE WICKER MAN‘s companion piece, THE WICKER TREE, to come to fruition, but that apparently won’t be the case for the third entry in the series. Bloody-Disgusting reports that creator Robin Hardy will begin filming a new follow-up next week!

No word on a title, synopsis, cast or any other details at this point, but we’ll let you know when we hear something. It’s pretty interesting that Hardy is jumping right back into it considering the long gaps between his prior works.

Before we get excited about a third one, let’s hope THE WICKER TREE is a winner first! The film is having its premiere at the Fantasia international film festival in Montreal, where Hardy dropped the news. It stars Graham McTavish, Brittania Nicol (below), Henry Garrett, Jacqueline Leonard and Christopher Lee.
