Almodovar’s The Skin I Live In gets bumped, Nichols’ Take Shelter gets fall release

Got a little release info to share with y’all…

A couple weeks ago we learned Pedro Almodovar’s new vanity thriller, THE SKIN I LIVE IN, was set to roll out in limited theaters beginning October 7th. Well, in a minor bit of shuffling news, the film will now enjoy a limited stint a week later, starting October 14th.

Here’s the synopsis: Ever since his wife was burned in a car crash, Dr. Robert Ledgard, an eminent plastic surgeon, has been interested in creating a new skin with which he could have saved her. After twelve years, he manages to cultivate a skin that is a real shield against every assault. In addition to years of study and experimentation, Robert needed a further three things: no scruples, an accomplice and a human guinea pig. Scruples were never a problem. Marilia, the woman who looked after him from the day he was born, is his most faithful accomplice. And as for the human guinea pig…

In further release news, Jeff Nichol’s Cannes darling TAKE SHELTER has been tagged with a limited September 30th release. it’s set to open wider the following month.

TAKE SHELTER follows Curtis LaForche, who lives in a small town in Ohio with his wife, Samantha, and daughter, Hannah, a six-year-old deaf girl. When Curtis begins to have terrifying dreams, he keeps the visions to himself, channeling his anxiety into obsessively building a storm shelter in his backyard. His seemingly inexplicable behavior concerns and confounds those closest to him, but the resulting strain on his marriage and tension within his community can’t compare with Curtis’s privately held fear of what his dreams may truly signify.

There it is, plain and simple. TAKE SHELTER comes to select cities September 30th, with a roll out in October. THE SKIN I LIVE in will do the same, starting October 14th.
