Haley Joel Osment sees dead folks again, starring in Frankenstein film Wake The Dead

Is it dead people or a dead bank account he sees?

Wow, was that too harsh?

In any event, it seems Haley Joel Osment is getting back in the genre game with a Frankenstein tale called WAKE THE DEAD, set in the present day. As you may recall, this is one of the first titles produced under the Slash Films banner. Yes, from Slash of Guns N’ Roses fame.

Jay Russell (LADDER 49, MY DOG SKIP) is all geared up to direct WAKE THE DEAD, which is based on the graphic novels by Steve Niles. Word is Osment will be playing the role of Victor Frankenstein, a college student experimenting with reversing death. Should be interesting.

Osment largely disappeared from the world of cinema after 2003’s SECONDHAND LIONS. I don’t know, something about getting his college degree. However, he currently has something called MONTANA AMAZON and SASSY PANTS due for 2011 releases. It’s safe to say the dude’s back…with or without the damn diploma.

Question is, can you see Osment playing a collegiate Victor Frankenstein? Think it could work?
