We’ve been keeping a close eye on Pedro Almodovar’s THE SKIN I LIVE IN since we first got wise to the project about a year ago. The strange material combined with Almodovar’s frequently surreal style makes this a must-see for fans of the bizarre.
This is further proven by the new teaser for the flick, which we have for you below. You’re not going to get a great idea of what it’s actually about (although the synopsis will provide that), but the eerie tone and trippy visuals should give you an inkling of what’s in store.
The film’s synopsis: Ever since his wife was burned in a car crash, Dr. Robert Ledgard, an eminent plastic surgeon, has been interested in creating a new skin with which he could have saved her. After twelve years, he manages to cultivate a skin that is a real shield against every assault. In addition to years of study and experimentation, Robert needed a further three things: no scruples, an accomplice and a human guinea pig. Scruples were never a problem. Marilia, the woman who looked after him from the day he was born, is his most faithful accomplice. And as for the human guinea pig…
THE SKIN I LIVE IN is set to be released in the US in NOVEMBER, with a UK release date of AUGUST 26th.
