Any fans of Jay and Mark Duplass in the house? If so, this story’s for you…

The L.A. Times is reporting the CYRUS and BAGHEAD directors (seen above) are currently shopping a dramatic revenge thriller to studios called PITCHFORK. No deal has been made to acquire the property, but it’s safe to say it’ll happen soon enough. I guess now’s as good a time as any to give y’all the gist:

Pitchfork is a dramatic thriller about the middle-aged mother of an indie rocker who, after her son is killed in a car accident, seeks vengeance on an online blogger who had peddled snark about her son (on the music site Pitchfork, hence one of the title’s entendres). Things take a turn, though, when she finds out the snarker is just a teenager.

Aside from the use of “peddled snark,” what I like best about the project is that Susan Sarandon is being eyed as the mother in the film. Word is Mark Duplass, a one-time performer, may take an acting role in the film himself. May being the operative word.

Since 2005’s THE PUFFY CHAIR, the Duplass bros. have graduated from Mumblecore formula to more traditional Hollywood fare. After BAGHEAD and CYRUS, the brothers have completed THE DO-DECA-PENTATHALON and are currently in post on the Ed Helms/Jason Segel comedy JEFF WHO LIVES AT HOME.

More on PITCHFORK as we stick it…
