Well it’s a crazy slow news day on this early Thursday morning so I’ve decided to bring you all some news I came across over at The Hollywood Reporter’s Heat Vision blog. Now this news might eventually be deemed not AITH appropriate but for now we’re going to go ahead and run with it.
I’m talking about a flick heading our way from Columbia based on the famed magician Harry Houdini. That’s right folks – Houdini! How can a flick about Houdini not be cool? Apparently Columbia had already tapped Francis Lawrence to direct this little shindig and the news today has the studio hiring scribe Scott Frank to pen it. It seems Frank is one of the town’s most respected writers, having worked with the likes of Steven Soderbergh and Steven Spielberg. Enough of that though… What’s this shite about?!
It sees Houdini striving to expose a troubled, beautiful spiritualist as a fraud. As he becomes obsessed with her, he starts to believe she’s authentic, only to uncover what appears to be a tragic scam.
Hmm… Not exactly screaming with excitement now is it? Unfortunately that’s all we’ve got for now. Like I said, HOUDINI might not end up fitting in around these parts and if that is indeed the case you can bet we’ll stop reporting on it but for now we’re rolling with it. I mean come on, it’s Houdini!
