Enough jokes have been made about the non-stop barrage of HUNGER GAMES casting news, so let’s just get right to the latest: British thesp Toby Jones (THE MIST, THE RITE) has been cast in the Gary Ross film as “Claudius Templesmith”.

Going to the Hunger Games Wiki for info, we learn that Claudius Templesmith is the legendary announcer in the arenas of The Hunger Games. Claudius is described to have a large, booming voice (as quoted by Katniss Everdeen) and a sense of superiority.

Apparently the character is primarily teamed up with Caesar Flickerman, the Hunger Games host played by Stanley Tucci.

In addition to Jones – and the recently announced Lenny Kravitz – THE HUNGER GAMES stars Jennifer Lawrence (below), Stanley Tucci, Elizabeth Banks, Woody Harrelson and Wes Bentley. It opens on MARCH 23, 2012.
