Darren Aronofsky directing Angelina Jolie? How’s that gonna work out?
After learning Tim Burton has passed on brining MALEFICENT to the big screen, word is Disney is now courting BLACK SWAN and REQUEIM FOR A DREAM director Darren Aronofsky (above) to take the wheel. You think he’ll do it?
As you know, Aronofsky bailed on WOLVERINE not too long ago, and has since been deciding what his next move will be. The chance to work with Jolie (below), who’s long expressed interest in playing the titular green witch, has to be among the chief attractions, but there’s no telling if Aronofsky is willing to make a broad Disney animation film.
Of course, I’d rather see Darren lock horns with Clooney, in a project called HUMAN NATURE we made you aware of a couple of weeks ago. Not for nothing, but it seems Warner Bros. also wants Aronofsky to direct MOSES, a biblical epic, for the studio as well.
No commitment has been made yet, but if you had your druthers, which project would D.A. direct next? MALEFICENT? HUMAN NATURE? MOSES? Or another film altogether?
