Well, can you blame the guy?!? After a much publicized family fallout, it seems Arnold Schwarzenegger is putting his greatly anticipated acting comeback on hold to sort out his personal life.
If you hadn’t heard, Arnold recently split from his longtime wife Maria Shriver, and if that wasn’t painful enough, it became public that Arnold fathered a child with his one of his longtime staffers. Here’s the statement released from his office:
“Governor Schwarzenegger is focusing on personal matters and is not willing to commit to any production schedules or timelines. This includes Cry Macho. The Terminator franchise and other projects under consideration. We will resume discussions when Governor Schwarzenegger decides.”
Man, what a bummer. Not only were we looking forward to the man’s TERMINATOR return, but he had also had interest in quality projects like LAST STAND for Kim jee-Woon and THE TOMB for Antoine Fuqua. And now all that’s on indefinite hold.
The only silver lining I can find is perhaps the dumping of that GOVERNATOR project, but hey, watch that be the one project that does move forward. More on Arnie’s comeback as it develops.
