Michael Sheen’s exclusion notwithstanding, the cast alone for Tim Burton’s DARK SHADOWS has my keen eye affixed. Seriously, how can a film that stars Johnny Depp, Michelle Pfeiffer, Helena Bonham Carter, Eva Green, Jackie Earle Haley and Chloe Moretz NOT be good? See what I’m sayin’?!?
Anyhoo, Warner Bros. has set DARK SHADOWS for release on May 11, 2012. Exactly a year from yesterday, or if you’d like, 364 days from today. Let the countdown begin…
Also featuring Bella Heathcote, Thomas McDonell and Gulliver McGrath – DARK SHADOWS was a 1960s TV soap that centered on the 175-year-old vampire Barnabas Collins, sealed in his coffin by his father in 1795 and inadvertently unleashed in the present where he must adjust to an entirely new world while passing himself off to relatives in Collinwood, Maine as a cousin from England.
Up next is Lars Von Trier’s apocalyptic elegy MELANCHOLIA, which has been tagged by Magnolia with a November 11, 2011 release date. Perfect for giving thanks, don’t ya think? No? Here’s the synopsis:
