Mod Producciones, producers of the recently Oscar-nominated BIUTIFUL, is getting set to turn toward something a little less heavy with GHOST GRADUATION, a supernatural comedy to be directed by Javier Ruiz Caldera.

The film focuses on Modesto, a mediocre teacher with a paranormal gift, who is given the responsibility of helping five singular students — all ghosts — pass their high-school exams and finally leave school.

Starring Raul Arevalo, Alexandra Jimenez (pictured right) and Ana Fernandez, GHOST GRADUATION will be director Javier Ruiz Caldera’s second feature; his first, the spoof SPANISH MOVIE, was a hit in his native Spain. (It bears the distinction of being Leslie Nielsen’s final films.)

Ikiru Films will co-produce; International rights have been acquired by Vicente Canales’ Film Factory Ent., which has handled international sales for the [REC] films, among many others.

GHOST GRADUATION begins shooting in June.
